Digital Engagement for Job Search and Career Management Success
By Kit JeffreyDigital engagement in the context of job search and career management is a vital element in your success. By digital engagement, I mean using social networking/social media tools to create and promote your personal brand. A positive presence in social media translates into a positive reputation and relevance in the contemporary world of work.
Consider the following:
- 45% of employers currently check social media sites to research job candidates. This is up from just 22% last year. Moreover, another 11% of employers plan to start checking candidates in social media site. (Source: CareerBuilder)
- Mobile technology and social networking have shifted the entire job search paradigm. (Source: Job-Hunt.org)
