Kit Jeffrey, Chief Boomer
My passion is BoomerCompass, an outplacement and career transition consulting practice I started a while ago. I specialize in helping companies lay off Boomers as painlessly as possible. Layoffs will always happen (it happened to me). But Boomers are a special case. From the company’s perspective, it’s about doing it in a way that gives these people as much support as possible in moving on to the next chapter in their lives. Not only does this reduce things like lawsuits, it’s the right thing to do. I work with HR professionals in making sure it’s done right. I work with those who are laid off to help them achieve successful career transitions.
I’m excited to have a role in contributing to the discussion how to improve layoffs and career transitions. Sharing information about these critical human resource issues in this Blog, through other social media, in-person, in meetings and presentations has resulted in lively exchanges I greatly value and enjoy.
I owe a great debt to colleagues, clients, former bosses and other experts that have generously shared their knowledge, experience and perspectives on careers and life.
None of this would have been possible without the solid foundation of family and friends.
Thanks to all of you!
